Diigo - HELP!

From: http://www.arikhanson.com/2011/01/25/7-reasons-diigo-should-be-your-social-bookmarking-tool/

So, I have been spending the evening trying to figure out Diigo (I know, exciting!) and I am really struggling with understanding how it all really works.  I think I was able to put the "diigolet" in my toolbar as mentioned in Richardson's chapter 6, but I don't know what to do now.  Do I find a website that I use often and save it into the library? And how do I do that?  I tried playing around with it, but it is like a second language to me and I wasn't able to do anything.  I would really appreciate some help...any takers?

  1. Do you have the Diigolet installed? If not, you need to have it installed on your toolbar. Thus, when you visit a site that you want to bookmark for later reference, while on the site, you hit the Diigolet and look for the Bookmark (or Tagging) feature. I am not sure if you will see Bookmark or Tagging pop up. It will depend on how you have the Diigolet installed. Once you see the pop up window, fill in the annotation screen with some notes and use some terms to tag the site, which will then help you search your Diigo Library to later find what you bookmarked. The beauty of Diigo is that you can bookmark sites and then find them on any computer by logging into your Diigo account. If you have further questions, ask a peer in class who has moved ahead with using Diigo.

  2. I am trying to become more familiar with diigo myself. At first, I didn't see the point. However, it is really convenient to have all of my internet resources in one place, and available on any computer. Guess it just takes some practice! We can work on it together :)
